GETTING IN THE GROOVE.......

Yes ladies, after all the incessant hype over bloggerland on the MAC Stereo MSF re-release, you know I had to go and check the collection out for myself.

I gave into the hype and bought 2 Stereo Rose MSFs. The product has been spoken about so much as it was last released in 2005 Goldplay Collection and is the only corally MSF ever released, making it a unique and sought after product by everyone from the light skinned to dark skinned MAC lovers. As a NW45, I can confirm that Stereo Rose is great on darker skintones, though I personally would probably use this more as a highlight than a blush. Nevertheless, the consistency is gorgeous! So smooth and glitter-bomb free ;)

I already owned the MAC Comfort and By Candlelight MSFs and you will note from my Warm & Cosy Collection Review that these are also hits with me...

From In the Groove, I also picked the amazing purple "Go For It" cremesheen lipstick. Guys, this lipstick is the bomb! Even my mum wanted this when she saw me rocking it lol. I love the fact that it is buildable and so I can wear a light application to work, or a rock-hard full-on application on a night out. It is also very creamy and not drying...

I wasn't interested in the mineralized eyeshadows, as I enjoy the normal shadows and have enough to last a lifetime already hehe

Let me know if you had any faves from this collection.....

Til next time
Peace xx

To the Beach ....

To be honest peeps, I wasn't particularly thrilled with this MAC collection...

Nothing really grabbed me but I did pick up the eyeshadow in 'Sweet n Punchy', having heard it's a point blank dupe for MAC's Rated R, also limited ed.... Looking forward to doing a look with this for the summer...

Hey!!! Here come my favourites things (for now).....

Hey,

I know... it's been a hot minute, have been real busy with work, started a new job in March! Am still enjoying playing around with makeup as usual, and my faves at the moment are:

1. VANILLA PIGMENT- WOC if you want the perfect highlight and glowing lids, get this!

2. NARS EXHIBIT A - An amazing blush, perfect when applied with a light hand and skunk brush

3. MAC METAL ROCK MSF - I finally got my hands on this, gorgeous bronzer when layered over blushes ;)

4. MAC WOODWINKED EYESHADOW - lightly applied as all over lid color - nice for when there's not enough time in the morning for full-on makeup

5. MAC SWEETIE LIPSTICK AND MAC PINKARAT LUSTREGLASS - Amazing Lip Combo for summer!I'm NW45 for reference. It's seriously really cute on the lips although wears off quickly as Sweetie is a lustre. I've been wearing this combo to work when I want color which is office-appropriate... but still fresh and young looking, love it

6. MAC EVER HIP WITH MAC PERENNIAL HIGH STYLE L/G - from Mac's Liberty of London Collection - Gorgeous milky pinky-coral lip, wore this today

Blessings

Recommended Youtubers to Check Out

Hi all

It's me again, my fingers are keyboard-happy it seems!! I love this blog thing, it's a great release and fun to do. I hope this blog finds you all well...

Just wanted to recommend some youtubers who I have personally gained a LOT from, in terms of developing makeup techniques and skills, as well as great makeup reviews through vids

1. My absolute favorite is pixiwoo - check them out, they're two sisters, who are makeup artists, coming up with great educational vids. I always learn something new, or get inspired by their work

2. Drbrooklyn730 - great vids again from a young lady in New York, very informative videos and personable tutorials.

3. Makeupbyrisa- she takes you step by step on why/how she is applying what. Very clear and precise guide to creating looks...

4. ThesPNation - this guy is the King of hauls. Check him out lol

5. Scandalousbeauty-google her lol

Have a great day/afternoon/evening
Much love ;)

What is it about Makeup???

I asked myself recently, "Why is it that you spend time trying out makeup products and practising makeup skills?" I came up with...

thinking outside the box...
no boundaries...
expressing creativity...
bright colors...
perceptions of beauty...
enhancing natural beauty...
boosting confidence...
presentation...
transformation...
personality...
wedding photoshoots...

etc etc...lol

I am not at all advocating that cosmetics are the answer to life's problems, but to be honest, I am naturally a very serious person. So when I find a medium through which I can just be silly, not think too much, and have fun, I'ma grab the opportunity with both hands!!!

Have you ever asked yourself why you love makeup?

ten fave MAC eyeshadows ;)

MY top TEN are :

1. Carbon - best black hands down! A little hard to blend, but worth the effort...

2. Arena - classy lid color for every day, and great highlight for WOC

3. Embark - beautiful warm brown, awesome in the crease, prob my fave color

4. Orange - love this just above Embark in crease to warm up a neutral look

5. Ricepaper- great highlighter color

6. Bronze -LOVE ;)

7. Plumage - beautiful deep blue/green - v. unique IMO

8. Deep truth - gorgeous metallic blue, real pretty over black base

9. Expensive pink - unusual color, and change depending on the base used (can look pink or more bronze)... its meant to look like pink bronze pigment think, or melon... i forget :(

10. Mulch - brown/mauve-y goodness!
I just love MAC eyeshadows, they may be a little pricey (at least over here in the UK) but they blend beautifully, last all day with a base underneath, and are to be honest worth every penny!
What are your fave eyeshadows??
